Key Responsibilities

  • Provide U.S. and international trademark counseling, including clearance, prosecution strategy, and portfolio management for brand owners across industries.

  • Conduct and analyze trademark clearance searches and advise clients on risk, registrability, and use.

  • Draft, file, and prosecute trademark applications, including preparing substantive responses to PTO Office Actions.

  • Manage and support trademark enforcement matters, including drafting and responding to cease-and-desist letters.

  • Handle and assist with adversarial proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB), including oppositions and cancellations.

  • Advise clients on domain name disputes, UDRP proceedings, and trademark issues arising from online and social media use.

  • Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, and foreign associates under partner supervision.

  • Support business development efforts and contribute to the growth of client relationships and portfolios.

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience in U.S. and foreign trademark counseling, clearance, and prosecution, including reviewing clearance searches and preparing substantive responses to trademark Office Actions.

  • Experience preparing and responding to cease-and-desist letters and handling enforcement matters, including domain name disputes, UDRP actions, TTAB proceedings, and trademark issues involving social media platforms.

  • Active membership in at least one U.S. state bar, and are authorized to work, and reside in, the United States.

  • Excellent writing skills and strong academic credentials.

  • Ability to manage multiple matters, meet deadlines, and exercise sound judgment in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, clients, and foreign associates.
